The Eastern Stone Curlew, or thick-knee, often gets a hard time in urban areas because of its highly defensive tactics and loud nocturnal communications. Here the curlew is portrayed as a proud Australian bird, one who will fiercely defend its family, complete with a cowboy hat that suits the curlew's general behaviour and attitude. Rich earthy hues with hints of ochre and blush make up this one off statement piece. Area of textured paint invite the viewer to lean in close.
This is a one of a kind artwork, there are no duplicates, though there are others in this series, but they are all different from one another because of the hand painting. It was created with acrylic paint, over a matte photographic print on canvas. It's a true statement piece sure to spark conversation.
Signed on the lower right profile edge as well as a certificate of authenticity signed by myself.
Note: This is a one off hand painted work incorporating a fine art canvas print and thick acrylic paint. To order the print only it is around $500 less for this size. Visit this work as a fine art print without the hand painting HERE.
