'Seven Black Cockatoos above the Wetlands' is inspired by the wildlife and flora in the coastal bushland not far from Naomi's home and studio on the Far Sth Coast of NSW.

'Grandfathers Gully at Lilli Pilli is a place I walk alone, yet never feel alone. Freshwater descends over ochre cliffs between spotted gums to the wetlands below, forming an ancient natural eel trap once used by the first nation Yuin people. Seven black cockatoos pass overhead, their totemic presence evoking resilience, connection with the land, hope and coming rain.' - Naomi

The abstract white flannel flowers are highly textured, and contract against ochre, sage, olive and granite blue. Reflective metallic paint flashes as you walk past highlighting the water glistening between the foliage. The yellow tailed, black cockatoos glide along on their way home to roost in the hollows of spotted gums. This bold and intrinsically Australian painting is a one-off fine art abstract, and blends Naomi's bushland and botanicals series.
